We convert your address to coordinates, then find nearby outage events using a weighted algorithm that considers both distance and outage size.

The Process

1. Geocoding: Convert your address to GPS coordinates using OpenStreetMap
2. Distance calculation: Find all outages within 0.6 miles of your location
3. Smart ranking: Weight by both distance AND outage size (larger outages affecting more customers cover wider areas)

Why might it be wrong?

• Two neighbors can be on different electrical equipment and have different outages
• Outage boundaries don't follow street lines
• Multiple small outages may be near you

~85-95% for the top suggestion. We show you the top 3 matches so you can confirm which one is yours.
